Get Fit Challenge

The HPDP program provides evidence-based diabetes prevention strategies to reduce diabetes risk and intervention among youth and adults in Tuba City and surrounding communities outlined in the Special Diabetes for Indians (SDPI) grant. One of the programs HPDP provides is the Get Fit Challenge (GFC) program; a 16 week program to help train individuals for a 5k, 10k, half marathon or full marathon. GFC program provides interactive presentations and group runs that anyone can join! Also you do not have to be from Tuba City, this program is provided so that a physical community joins together to provide that support and motivation to becoming healthier individuals. Individuals also register on their own to run/walk (as part of Team Tuba City) in the Rock N Roll Marathon, Half, 10k or 5k at the end of the training program on January 15, 2018.  To be a part of Team Tuba City you fill a registration form out on registration day (SEPT 12).  Some perks to this program is that some youth registration is covered provided that individuals meet age and program requirements, also discount codes are provided if individuals would like to register for the Rock N Roll Race on their own.

Presentations are all free and everyone is welcome to participate at any point during the program, even the group runs.
