The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is located in Northeast Arizona on the land known as the Colorado Plateau. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400 in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. Tuba City is located the desert southwest characterized by sunny days, clear nights and moderate temperatures. We enjoy warm summer days in the 80s and 90s and cool summer nights in the 60s. Winters are dry and sunny with daytime temps in the 40s and 50s and nights clear and crisp with temperatures in the 20s 30s. The skies are ever changing. With the summer come the afternoon monsoons of July and August that feature huge white billowing clouds, cool rains, and rainbows. Fall is long and passes slowly into a mild winter. In the spring the winds pick up, the trees bloom and we move again back into summer.
The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. Find out more about Tuba City.
The closest neighboring city with weather information is Flagstaff, AZ. Flagstaff is 70 miles to the south and its 7,000 feet in elevation contrasts Tuba City's 5,000 feet. Flagstaff is 10 degrees colder, on average, than Tuba City and receives 3 times the amount of precipitation. Ponderosa pine forests surround Flagstaff while the Painted Desert and beautiful red rocks of the southwest surround Tuba City. In winter Flagstaff often has snow on the ground but snow is rare in Tuba City. There are few places in the world where you can choose from such a wonderful variety of weather, which can change dramatically in the course of an hour.
