Five Graduate from TCRHCC Pharmacy Technician Program

TUBA CITY, Ariz –TUBA CITY, Ariz — The fifth cohort of Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation’s Pharmacy Technician Trainee program recently graduated five students.

The Pharmacy Tech program started in 2019 and has since had a total of 41 graduates. Applicants for the fifth cohort were chosen in January and graduated Wednesday, April 19th.

The Master of Ceremony for the graduation, Interim Outpatient Pharmacy Manager Nicholas J. Palm. PharmD, MEd, BS, BCPS told the graduates, “The new tools you learn will help you serve your community. Congratulations graduates.”

The Interim Director of Pharmacy Bickkie Solomon, PharmD, MBA-HM, BCSCP said, “Graduates, you accomplished a lot in a short time. You all successfully completed your pharmacy technician trainee program with persistence, dedication, and hard work.” She then shared her own educational journey.

The five graduates are: Benally, Tyeria; Nelson, Jaileen; Nockideneh, Ashley; Nockideneh, Shaylyn; Woody Jr., Derrick.

The pharmacy technician program is a twelve-week program, Monday through Thursday evenings from 5 pm to 9 pm; which includes 80 hours of on-the-job shadowing and training.

Upon completion of the program, students have the opportunity to become a Pharmacy Technician Trainee and gain experience to advance to a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Medication Reconciliation Technician. These are jobs currently available at TCRHCC.

The program recently started a sixth cohort pharmacy technician trainee program.

The Training Program is a competitive selection process and is offered at no cost to qualified candidates thanks to a Health Disparities Grant from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
