Increase of Respiratory Illnesses Cause Temporary Visitation Restrictions at Tuba City OB Unit and Pediatric Unit beginning Monday, February 13

TUBA CITY, Ariz. – Due to the increased level of respiratory viruses being seen in the community, Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation OB Unit and Pediatric Unit implemented temporary visitor restrictions effective Monday, Feb. 12, 2012.

If you are visiting a child in the hospital, child visitors must be at least 12 years old to visit patients, and all visitors must be free from respiratory symptoms. These restrictions only apply to visitors, not TCRHCC’s patients presenting in the Emergency Department or patients seeking medical care.

“While we understand this may cause some families an inconvenience, this is necessary to prevent the spread of illness,” explains Dr. Laurel Couts at TCRHCC. “Thank you for helping us enforce this rule to keep our babies healthy.”

Visitors who are sick and have cold or flu symptoms – a fever, cough, sneezing or running nose will not be permitted to visit. For the safety of our patients, visitors and staff, visitation restrictions will be in effect until late Spring 2012.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation in doing what’s best for our patients and staff.
