Tuba City, AZ – Lynette Bonar, chief executive officer of Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, has become a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a professional society for healthcare leaders. Earning the distinction represents expertise, experience and commitment to continuing education and professional development.
To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are please to know our Chief Executive Officer Ms. Bonar has achieved this high recognition and to hold high standards in our organization,” said Christopher Curley, Board of Directors President. “We want to see growth in our hospital staff and education is key in keeping with the delivery of high quality health care.”
While serving as CEO, Bonar continues to improve the financial position of the hospital and reinvested back into the hospital to benefit the community. The hospital recently opened the Sacred Peaks Health Center-West in Flagstaff, AZ, where eye exams and mental health services are provided. Under Bonar’s direction, TCRHCC also opened the LeChee Health Facility, in LeChee, Arizona, offering Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Pharmacy Services.
Curley added, “As a Title V, P.L. 638 organization we are continually working towards opportunities to increase our patients with the newest technologies in healthcare and bringing to our communities the highest primary and specialty care that once only available in cities away from home.”
The hospital successfully completed the HRSA Program Survey and expanded HRSA Behavioral Health Integration. TCRHCC established a 12-week Nursing Training Program for new nurses and providing additional trainings.
Other highlights include the Meds In Hand Program, a partnership between Sacred Peaks Health Center and Flagstaff Medical Center, so patients have access to their medication after being discharged. The Joint Commission accredited TCRHCC for Hospital Laboratory and Durable Medical Equipment. TCRHCC is the only hospital on the Navajo Nation rated a 3-Star Rating.
“Ms. Bonar’s work ethic is greatly appreciated as our Chief Executive Officer in our regional hospital. We need great leaders to serve at this level and we know Ms. Bonar also encourages her staff to continue to work towards the next step in education and certifications,” said Curley.
