TCRHCC receives 475 doses of COVID-19 vaccine

TUBA CITY, A.Z. (TCRHCC) – Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC) received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday in line with other medical facilities across the Navajo Nation.

TCRHCC leadership and Pharmacy staff were on site to welcome the vaccine’s arrival.

Lynette Bonar, TCRHCC CEO, was among the officials present at what she called a “momentous” landmark in the Nation’s battle against the virus.

TCRHCC said it received 95 vials and each vial has five doses for a total of 475 doses.

The hospital said it is expecting to give all of the initial vaccines over the next four days, with the first one to be administered as early as Wednesday morning. TCRHCC will offer the vaccine to healthcare workers who provide direct patient care and caring for COVID-19 patients.

TCRHCC said an additional 800 doses are expected to be delivered to the hospital a week later. Those doses will continue to be given per the COVID-19 Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations.
